"metal music machine 2" is the sequel to jazkamer's 2006 metal album "metal music machine". it is recorded with the same line-up, in the same studio, and continues the paths laid out by the first album; jazkamer exploring the deep dark fjords of metal. from 80's german thrash to überslow doom and 70's classic heavy metal; "metal music machine 2" is a varied platter of metal mania. the original album was something of a surprise hit for the band, which lead to creating a live mmm-big band. the live incarnation swayed more in the direction of noise meltdown, but for "metal music machine 2" jazkamer takes a step back to pure metal; the album is perhaps more metal than the first and absolutely no noise or electronic elements can be heard. jazkamer would like to dedicate "metal music machine 2" to the memory of ronnie james dio; the greatest voice of heavy metal who sadly passed away this year. as a sign of respect "metal music machine 2" is a completely instrumental album with no vokills.

"failed state of mind" is jazkamer's 25th studio album. most people know of the infamous "that difficult 25th album", but for jazkamer the landmark number appears to have given no difficulties, as "failed state of mind" is the most mellow and easy-on-the-ears recording jazkamer since 2006's "panic". the nine tracks that makes up the album is a drifting tapestry of droning guitars, distant location recordings and tasteful percussion work, all woven together in a seamless stream that is subtle and abstract. melody is hinted at, but never achieved, buried beneath layers of sound. one could almost thing that jazkamer is getting mellow in their older years. what sticks in the ear is the clarity with which jazkamer shifts between different swathes and bandwidths of noise. from moment to moment what you catch feels like a pinball machine, a child's electronic toy, a rasping insect, a fax, or simply the abstract whirr of sonic information; all caught up in an articulate but pressured streamline. friday, september 10, 2010 ludo mich / burial hex cover artwork realised by dylan nyoukis. layout and design by eric frye. professionally duplicated and imprinted cro2 cassettes. edition of 250 (silver ink on black shells). co-released with our friends at scumbag relations. goes into production 9/10/2010 to be released sept. - oct. 2010 ludo mich is a painter, sculptor, holographer, musician, performance artist and fluxus associate best known for the series of hysterical films he made in the sixties and seventies, especially : 'lysistrata' (1975), an adaptation of aristophanes' satirical poetic comedy into a strictly personal ludic burlesque. all actors perform naked. this was due not simply to the budget being too small to accommodate the appropriate costumes and regalia; ludo mich also intended to use his particularity to heighten the impact of aristophanes' anarchistic ideas. 'saturnus' (1971) by ludo mich still remains one of the topworks of the belgian underground cinema of the sixties and seventies.. burial hex is the extended keyboard and noise meditations of clay ruby. a composition cycle of horror electronics to be executed in preparation for thee final mysteries coming in the twilight of this kali yuga. vocals composed and performed by ludo mich, recorded 15.2.2008 at ludo's place by marc van tichel / tape modern. edited and infused with electronics, spring - summer, 2010 at the harvest abbey. all electronics designed and edited by clay ruby, with additional synthesizer contributions by the mumber toes on "forever and the end..."

providien "followed by a wraith" amethyst sunset 008 the midwest is a real shangri-la for bohemia basement bleakness so it’s not real surprising that loner tape grime duo providien hail from the snow-blasted state of ohio, and have a grim grassroots aura that just feels right. led by sword heaven electrician mark van fleet and partner-in-crime/childhood friend nathan reynolds (also of weirdo goths american jobs), providien’s debut, “followed by a wraith”, sprawls from disembodied horror atmospherics to no-fi sludge death marches to pure weirdo home-taper acoustic guitar meltdowns, each new zone more unsettling and brainwashed than the last. has elements of mammal (especially the recent drone-suicide ballads), the shadow ring (just replace all the british stuff with raw american sloth), and various other esoteric cassette miserablists, but that’s just a roundabout way of saying this shit rules.  - britt brown the lp is limited to 200 copies on black vinyl with color center labels and a paste on cover insert with album info and tracklist is printed on cardstock.

artist: ed yazijian title: gansrud format: lp matrix#: hp 285 second solo full-length from ed yazijian, also known for his long running but sparsely documented collaborations with dredd foole, featuring eight disparate tracks recorded between 1996 and 2009. each side starts off with some slow burning guitar (accented by bowed contrabass and violin on side two) that reverberates with an ease past midnight vibe. the album then weaves through a personalized space featuring eastern percussion, mainlined/cosmic violin drones and intercepted radio transmissions from an unknown origin. the record concludes with a contemplative guitar which is enveloped in tape hiss that eases its way in before fading away. the lp pressed in an edition of 350 copies and is presented in a full colour printed sleeve that is at one itself and with the spirits an opaque facsimile.

excavacations afternoon future aa008cs :: cassette duration: 35 minutes pop music isn’t what it used to be. excavacations know this as well as anyone, and you’ll know it too when you find yourself tapping your foot suddenly after emerging from a murky fog of sustained guitars and synthesizers. chad parsons & nicholas longworth’s increasingly signature stamp onto the musical underground is unmistakably playful, but don’t miss the signposts pointing back in time, and (it hardly bears mentioning) don’t miss the caverns of solemnity from which their lighter sensibilities emerge. these two musicians have been feeding on the morsels that popular rock & roll has left behind, and washing it down with a swig of experimental electronics and a gulp of musique concrete. their knowledge shows through when suddenly we find ourselves at that point where we want to hit rewind and hear that unforseen verse repeated yet again. when you find yourself frustrated that the last verse was indeed the last verse, take some consolation and rest in the longer stretches of abstraction, and keep in mind that excavacations just might come back with another verse or two. how soon? keep listening.

ajilvsga massacre canyon aa007cs :: double-cassette duration: 168 minutes if you’ve been hanging around the tiny experimental voids that have been surfacing in north america over the past five-or-so years, there is some chance that you’ve brushed up against the rolling thunderhead called ajilvsga. the duo’s body of work is massive, and so even though it’s only a glimpse, massacre canyon is nonetheless a necessary document in the evolution of this musical icon. this soaring double-cassette collects tracks from ajilvsga’s past—some pieces more ephemeral than others, but everything worthy of a second (or tenth) glance. what these selections have in common is only a certain ability to succinctly (as much as one can, given the nature of the music, both in density and in length) define this oklahoman tag-team’s oeuvre: an animal darkness, tainted with imagery both accusatory and mournful. through their own multitude of sonic approaches, may you find ajilvsga’s essence living in the spaces of massacre canyon. alas, it’s not the end: side d contains 40 minutes of new music. onward!
