| | sam brelsfoard moves up into the big leagues with this single, his debut for his now permanent home zod, his second after the self-released “sampler” single (on the crabouiller label, check it). restricting his production-modus to only the basics (pitch shifting, no dsp, slight spacial effects, step-time sequencing) he achieves a zen-like simplicity using locally sourced sounds and objects, working the various stutter methods to sublime effect. a certain affinity for matmos/herbert style household detritus & junkpile instrumentation makes him stick out like a sore thumb from the rest of the zod pack. perhaps this is a very good thing. hrvatski remix treats the source material (17 samples of a stringed instrument) in the familiar “räume” fashion... |
