| | | throne heap (usa) #th os 2 lp sewer election “vittra sönder” long playing record - att falla (16:21)
- bilder av dig (15:22)
| january 2012 release ; ... over the past decade, sweden’s dan “sewer election” johansson has, quietly, been issuing some of the most forward-thinking music to come out of the whole “harsh noise” sector (2009’s self-released cassette “vidöppna sår” - later released on lp by pan - is but one example) ...
... even calling this “noise” is something of a misnomer ; while the tail-end of “att falla” does have a kind of schimpfluch-ian gross-ness to it, the majority of this record comes closer to the in-situ, room-tone / drone antics & tape-warble of any number of “private”, “real”, “outsider” outings of the last 3-odd decades (i’m reminded, in equal measures throughout, of yoshi wada, the various aktionist audio-art pieces, and even the “presque rien” of luc ferrari ... albeit in a gain-staged morass of frayed ferrite) ...
... an amazing, singular record ; highly recommended !!! |

| sewer election - vittra sönder lp
tape manipulation and metal abuse at it's absolute finest. a few minutes of primitive organ melody mark the a-side of this lp, while the flipside features some percussive stabs so sparsely placed that they could nearly be counted on one hand.
although these musical passages are brief, they are worth mentioning as they significantly compliment the overall mood & pacing of the album. deep within the grooves of vittra sönder the musique truly meets the concrète.
recorded at utmarken gothenburg, sweden 2010-2011. |
