| | | savage land (france) #sl 07 cd tom smith / kevin drumm “reconquer sleep or disappear” compact disc - reconquer sleep or disappear (53:01)
| october 2010 release ; 8-years-in-the-making collaborative electro-acoustic piece, jointly exorcised by to live & shave in l.a. / pussy galore’s tom smith & kevin drumm ...
presented as an unflinching, 53-minute block of all sound, thematically, “reconquer sleep or disappear” is nestled halfway between tom’s excellent rush of recent plunderphonic / cut-up / “chopped & screwed” work (the semi-recent tanzprocesz tape being the best example) & kevin’s analogue gristle & digital transmogrifications ...
awesome stuff, really great to kevin return to harsher / busier climes after his recent bout with icy drone-work ... highly recommended !!! |

| tom smith & kevin drumm - reconquer sleep or disappear

limited edition of 500.
good afternoon, it's arbeitstag here in deutschland, and the cars are burning in berlin, as per custom. in hannover, of course, dullards have gathered in droves at faust not to protest greek fiduciary irregularities or nato's continuing involvement in afghanistan or that new nightmare on elm street rehash but instead to drunkenly coo over downmarket indie blah. tradition is burning bus full of nine-year-old math prodigies...
just received an email from manu at savage land - he's shooting for a june release date for the tom smith / kevin drumm album, reconquer sleep or disappear. yee-haw! the mockups hardly do the artwork justice, as they were produced on a non-pro printer. still, they should give you an idea of the layout - multi-fold cardstock sleeve, full color, in a limited edition of 300 compact discs (not cd-rs). as for the muzak? thirty-four meandering oboe solos. try not to saw off your ankles while in the thrall of anticipatory bliss!
damn, it's good to be alive... besmirched, as ever, ts |
