... as always w/ pp, it’s kind of a ridiculously nice edition (esp. given the price !!!) ; crisp, mono-color sleeve opens up to a rather detailed full-color inner sleeve (detail below) rife with tdr™-style cracked-architecture mapping(s) of the nil “logo” ...

a really nicely done record ; highly recommended !!!

nilmonic process was developed through a self formulated language of both loose form free-feedback (nilmonic process) and computer generated composition (nilmonic processors). simple and raw, black-box pedal feedback in one regard, but meticulously structured and digital in another. bent perception anti-synth. first all pro printed release in the phaserprone catalog (and possibly/most likely, the last pro printed release in the phaserprone catalog?).

may 2011 release ; ... for the first time in three years, here & below are a batch of new titles from jonas “grasslung” / “antiquity” asher’s phaserprone, an imprint (literally, in this case, for once :: each of these comes as a pro-duped / imprinted number in a standard norelco, albeit wrapped in a gorgeously letter-pressed j-card of jonas’ own devising / execution that just screams “class” not to mention “meticulousness”) that has survived a northerly re-route (from baltimore to brooklyn, no less) with its sensibilities intact ...

... debuting in 2002 with the espen mycotoxin split with detente in the world of destructable characters, the shadowy hsdom here drops his first release since 2007’s synb collaboration, consisting of four pieces so disparate i’m finding it hard to excise a representational segment (in the end i chose the a-side’s closing vectors of slowly pulsing analogue drone into zick-zack-ian wooze ... over, say, the opening dark industrial voice over ... or the chiming berlin-school triplicate of “machine” ... or even the closing pan(a)sonic style voltage-pulse into errant bbd squeak of the closer ; all amazing) ...

he’s back, for the first (and perhaps last) time as simply “dust” ; the formula has changed (even as the tech hasn’t) & now involves a far more minimal assemblage of live electronic timbres (perhaps belying his current roots in the west baltimore semi-squat scene ; this is just as egg-headed in its methods as anything any of the once festival folks would have conjured up) ...
