99 minutes of screeee-scrape-klang and sandpaper-texture heft from the percussion and guitar duo of ben hall and chris riggs, from michigan, usa. the two players here succeed in blending their respective instruments into the same architectural / industrial form, with drum scrape and guitar hiss swapping places and swapping back again, building smears and lines of echo and metal crying out.

if le corbusier and xenakis built a ship, and the ship fucking sank. slowly. it would sound like this.

january 2009 release ; a single, fiery, 18-minute double-guitar blurt from the nyali in-house ensemble of kevin mccarvel & stu crutchfield ... these guys manage to channel that magical, skullflower-esque “greater than the sum of its component parts” thing ; layers of ghost resonances (& the occasional drum bash) dot the proceedings thoughout ...

we’ve no idea who these two clowns are, but they sure play a mean guitar! second record from the nyali house-band, documented out scaring the glaswegian public with hideous volumes of guitar skronk and skeins of drawn out notes, all lurking amongst the feedback and un-tutored hell. they even play drums at one point, a kind of smashed-face interlude before the fug descends again. recorded at the jag's first gig, supporting richard youngs.
