september 2012 release ; ... deluxe vinyl edition (prepared for issue at the highest possible spec - alan “siwa” sherry -printed sleeves & crystal-clear 180g pressings - by long-term mms customer & friend joel nickelson just prior to his passing earlier this year - r.i.p. joel) of the second album by this post-overhang party group, spearheaded by op’s rinji fukuoka (sachiko also appears on “electronics”) along with kageyama hiroyuki & morohashi shigeki ...

... colossal free-rock moves cut with acid-choogle & the kind(s) of overloaded guitar flail that got us all so amped on the “tokyo flashback” scene to begin with ... the pressing & overall “quality” of this record really can’t be ignored ; so glad that alan followed through on everything after joel’s death (with the blessing of his family) - this really couldn’t be any better of a tribute to joel’s memory & dedication to the music ...

deluxe 2lp reissue of the first studio album by majustu no niwa (the band that rose from the ashes of the mighty overhang party). originally released on a japanese only cd this vinyl version includes an extra track from the same sessions left off the cd due to time constraints. we get crunching psychedelic rock, an acoustic comedown then a final 22+ minute feedback and electronic laden journey into the void.

pressed by rti on hq 180 gm vinyl (the only 180gm produced in the us that matters) and housed in a heavy tip-on gatefold jacket. all around a beautifully presented item and it comes into the world in a limited edition of 500.

... while the acoustic lilt & (gradual) ascent into motorik lattice-work recalls both maher shalal hash baz (esp. hasegawa’s reiko-esque murmer) & amon düül i, the onkyo-lineage adherence to whisper-quiet dynamics & decidedly room-toned, in-situ aktion(s) makes this something of an anomaly (undoubtedly of the kind around which forward-thinking record labels are formed to generate a wider audience for ... god bless joel nickelson for his work here ; r.i.p.) ...

following their debut cd on psf this is the second album by the trio of yuko hasegawa (onna-kodomo), masahiro deguchi and shizuo uchida (hasegawa/shizuo, nijumu, onna-kodomo). improvised acoustic pieces for guitar, voice and bass that somehow coalesce into almost songlike folk forms.

the album is housed in a 4 color screenprinted sleeve and is released in a vinyl only edition of 285.
