| 2009 release ; first in a quartet of singles, self-issued by swiss percussionist christian wolfarth, recorded & manufactured in collaboration with rachad becker, covering his interference-based real-time acoustic drum-kit compositions ...
first up we get a gorgeous, 6-minute study for activated resonant surfaces (i’m guessing bowed bass drum) ; comes across as rich & dense as ellen fullman / paul panhuysen / et.al’s “long string music” ... second piece sounds like an automated / motorized snare drum piece, rife with a nice, buzzing background sonority that sounds not unlike japanese temple bells ... quite nice.

christian wolfarth has already published two solo-cd's "3-3-2" (1996 on percaso) and "wolfarth" (2005 on for4ears). they are followed now by a serial off solo releases on 7" vinyl, which shows his focussed playing. all the releases are carefully produced and designed and will be available only in a limited edition.

1992-1995 studies with pierre favre at the conservatory of luzern
1995 studies in contemporary composition with siegfried kutterer in basel
