january 2010 release ; ah yes, i was wondering when someone from this crowd would get around to emptily referencing scientology’s hush-hush “sea org” as subject matter ... the tenuous link between said and the contained sonics aside, this is a tape of “hands off” (i.e. “automatic” - human liberation technology, get it ???) music, presumably created by some automatic process that slowly modulates the feedback pitch in slight increments ... heavy seasickness vibes ...

september 2009 release ; epic 4-tape box (covering 2 hours of music !!!) from mike connelly, robert beatty, and trevor tremaine’s hair police, continuing their “our minds problems” series of archival issues covering jams, gigs, and blowouts culled from 8 years of their existence & featuring work from former members matt minter & ross compton as well as outsiders greg kelley, c. spencer yeh, and john olson ...

this set was manufactured as a “fundraiser” for their fall 2009 european tour ; mms received half of the tiny pressing to help the guys out (i.e. this is only available here & out on the ‘ol lonesome road) ... naturally, it comes highly recommended !!!

fairly browned-out full-wave rectification(s), dropping out for a crackly little number before returning to full-bore thud at the piece’s close (listen to the sound-sample for the last bit of that) ... just the kind of thing to turn a bright, sunny day full of promise & wonder into one where you consider slitting your wrist(s) ; straight-up-dismal ... also, highly recommended !!!

ffh "tiocfaidh ar la" 7".

a very unique release for both ffh and gods of tundra. after discovering we both shared an interest and obsession with the irish republican army and the conflicts and troubles in northern ireland, we decided working together on a project based on this would be worth while.

this 7" is the result. it is the most superior ffh offensive to date. superior in sound, in lyrics, and in ideas. artistically, it looks very little or nothing like any other got release, but all these things just add to the unique quality of the record. 26 +6 = 1.

first title on mike connelly’s gods of tundra label i’ve managed to get in stock (most releases are of the “friends & family” lineage - gone the way of the eagle shortly after launch ; perched atop high cliffs for the remainder of their existence...)

here’s a lovely set of fried-brain lineage electronics from lexington, ky’s daryl cook (frequent collaborator of hair police / 3-legged-race’s robert beatty) ; somewhat crap-looking paste-on sleeve hides a lovely clear/milky-vinyl blend golden egg ::


two untitled side-long pieces; one for temple bells & mild electronic interference (quite lovely, actually...) & another working solo hysteresis-heavy chirping circuit-bent/crackle-box lineage electronics over an occasional bed of hushed drones ...

walter carson "recalcitrants"

debut full lenght lp by lexington's finest sound creater/destroyer. after a handful of tape releases on ides, rampart and gods of tundra, carson pulls out by far his most complete and excellent work to date. carson's work can be as complex as the person who's creating it. here we have 2 distinct side long pieces.

side a depicts a battle between organic clang/scrape and piercing ruined electronics. each faction ponies up with total trance like, but not very calming, moves. by the end you'll have just walked through a weird fucking fight, and time will not really matter anymore. and thats only side a.

side b removes the organics and goes straight for the brain with sharp shocks and tones. its not harsh, its not calming, its not drone...its just total deep fried electronics.

edition of 300, clear vinyl.
