montreal should be in michigan. this release makes me think about the possibilities of forced continental drift. merging montreal with detroit would definitely be an improvement. upgrade for detroit, montreal might be pissed. blake hargreaves on homemade electronics, mixers and synths. alex moskos on guitar, synth and overall destruction.

the source material for this release is a live recording of a pre-basketcase project called mr. asthma from sometime before 1999. originally an improv jam session on detroit public radio, this updated mutation by nate young consists of tape manipulation, reeds, brass, cello and strange, metallic loops completely restructured to sound ancient. sort of a collaboration a decade later.
