gel09 sdm "s/t" c26 recorded during the early winter of 2010, this is a document of three unique individuals combing their skill and experience into a improvisational piece. the personnel for this recording is daren ho of driphouse, suzy poling of pod blotz, and marcia bassett of zaimph. the result is a heavy and slow meditating movement of electronics.

marcia bassett & margardia garcia the well headlights lph14 hand-numbered edition of 200 copies lp on manuel mota’s private headlights imprint documenting a heavyweight duo set from marcia bassett of zaimph, hototogisu, double leopards, ghq et al and improvising portuguese bassist and guitarist margardia garcia. garcia is one of the major new generation european free players, coming out of the same scene as mota, and she’s just as capable of generating swans-style industrial entropy as she is playing explosive fire music. here bassett uses keyboard and guitar to create austere arcs of industrial-strength drone that garcia anchors with tactile, questing strings, giving the whole thing an odd avant-classical backbone.

45 zaimph 'death blooming pleasure' lp when spinning this dark velvet cloak a door opens to clouds of smoke shooting out the windows sills of the shell of old library like ink plumes while smokes leaps like black cats between the curtains. stone and concrete crumble and fill the air with gray gas showering the the maze of shrubs in the courtyard with a dark veil of soot. marcia bassett has tread the waters of noise pysch drone and continues to defy the categories. a dark psychadelic guitar wash peaks its head out of the smoldering coals that could have been released on the mighty slaughter productions death industrial temple from italy. further morbidity croaks from the slicing vocals of a distraught entity being ripped from one dimension to the other... and rather enjoying her ordeal. light the candles and burn the incense.... limited to 300 copies.

clandestine series cassette # one high quality chrome cassettes with printed jcards featuring artwork by margarida garcia limited to 15o copies northern-spy records reveals its first release in a new cassette series entitled “clandestine.”  limited to 150 copies, pro dubbed on chrome tape cassettes, it’s like a secret dossier passed ‘neath the canopy of a linden tree on a cold autumn day. four artists offer a release that’s not so much cloak and dagger as uncovering forward directions in music. from the opening drones and understated beats of messages through the fret-board perambulations of tom carter (whose full-length project, eleven twenty-nine, is forthcoming from n-spy). side two is no less revealing as psychedelic drone virtuoso zaimph (marcia bassett) shares a side with avant-folk legend loren connors during a live encounter at union pool with bassist margarida garcia (whose artwork also graces the cover).

m. bassett / j. gräf "peradam" cd in rene daumal's mount analogue, a peradam is described as a clear and extremely hard stone, a true crystal. it is so transparent that it is nearly impossible to see. to discover a peradam was always the result of an inner act. at said moment in time, the stone's brilliance might catch the eye of one who seeks the truth. most peradams were found on the rough and dangerous trails up the mountain. peradam is the result of marcia bassett (zaimph, hototogisu) and jenny gräf (harrius, metalux) collaborating to map the arrival of their music. the three recordings on display reveal grainy, melodic vocal expressions combined with ritualistic, slow-burning noise and both women's belief in mysterious creativity. photograph by masahiro miyasaka. edition of 500.
