the trip from the western part of the island to san juan is smooth and dramatic -- the trees melt away and a metropolitan bulb protrudes. right in the shadow of the bulb is santurce, where the cubo space is a jagged realm of concrete and hyper productive thought and action.

workbench and black quarter were lucky enough to be invited to play in the san juan noise fest and this is a partial document of the evening -- our live set on one side, and puerto rican noise mainstay cornucopia on the other.

a small slice of a magical evening in puerto rico.

not unlike the 4 kiss members’ solo albums (ort he melvins for that matter) the leopards four each contribute a solo side to this double-tape box... the whole thing’s dripping with ill-intent; devoid of context we can assume this is a public variant of “group therapy” made audible. fantastic...

housed in a double-bubble blister box ala the recent dronedisco rylan/yeh collab... amazing maya artwork; weird amorphous color-blobs that so perfectly fit the music it’s near-criminal...

leagues away/under the rest of the no fun roster (they’ve always the odd ducks out ...) this is much closer to the quiet-storm continuum of classic / contemporary psychedelic rock running from arthur lee’s love right on through royal trux et.al - this disc collects their o/p heavy tapes 12”, their “side” of the split tour cdr w/ airport war, ditto w/ woods, and a few otherwise unreleased tracks (two of which feature nnck’s dave nuss) ...

rk are one of my favorite acts going right now from any scene ; very glad to have this material all in one place (for easy reference / naysayer-swaying purposes) - highly recommended !!!
