when i met janas some years ago, i hadn't the insight as to the depths of his musical prowess. amongst his endeavors, is his role as electronicist in the neo-psychedelic trio deep earth from chicago, as well as being a boat captain. this multi-faceted fellow exemplifies his impeccable technique and good taste here on simpleton electronics, unanimously, an impressive debut release. from start to finish, simpleton electronics seduces the listener with a wide array of well constructed electronic compositions surely to rival some of the classics. with a unique thumbprint, not unlike tom dissevelt or mort garson, janas' work is instantaneously captivating.
