| | actually, i’ll come clean. this isn’t very good - i mean it has it’s moments in a conrad & sohn kind of way - voided singing, churlish minimal analog synths - but it’s coming more from an almost glam-rock-meets-pink-floyd zone that i don’t feel is the most fruitful avenue... strictly for the heads... |

| following the lack of success generated by the phantom’s divine comedy which briefly appeared on capitol circa 1974, tommy court, the tortured genius behind the band’s doors-like faáade, dropped the mask and wrote and produced this album of electronic gymnastics and fuzz guitars which appeared on the fiddlers music label (fiddler’s music company 811015-1157) in 1978 under the guise of the happy dragon band.
the album features loads of synthesisers, electronic sound effects and spacey, cosmic electronics. every track is uniquely engaging, with the stand-outs being positive people, in flight and 3-d free (the last being a total electronic freakout from start to finish), maintaining their high level of originality and a clear penchant for electronic
this is a rare and highly distinctive album which is already well on its way to becoming a collector’s item of the future. |
