starting with improvisation, arm serves as a musical meeting point where anything can happen. part lab and part playground. all plans are put aside and results become clear over time. so, when other musicians are invited to join, this becomes music of constant change. what remains constant is the desire for experimentation and an inclusive approach to sound and noise. with this in mind, arm can be described as musical relatives to acts such as farmers manual, supersilent, boredoms and black dice.

debut from the trio of alexander rishaug, are mokkelbost (aka the excellent laptop/metal wunderkind single unit, whose records i hope to bring to you soon), and arne borgan, with guests. impressive improvised electronica, very wide in scope.

the lp back is an honest-to-goodness board game (see! you could never pull that off with a cd!).

norwegian electronica-improvisors arm describes themselves as three heads and one body, a partly domesticated creature; something that is friendly and violent at the same time, eager to share crunching hugs and pleasant kicks. this creature melts music with one hand and makes casts new music with the other – and throws it at you with the third! this creature actually consist of three guys, alexander rishaug, are mokkelbost and arne borgan, all of which have different solo-projects, but have been playing together for six years.

“ok, this is not the first driving by accident. two years ago we completed a record with the same name. it disappeared and it didn’t come back until recently. by then it had changed.

it’s no secret’ we like it even better now.

arm contributors on this recording is: arne borgan, are mokkelbost, and alexander rishaug. also, marius von der fehr is playing on track 1, 4, 7, 8, and 11. those tracks were recorded in a tower by the royal castle in oslo, norway. the rest are relics from arm cncerts around the world.”
