selaroda is the work of san francisco resident, michael henning. "synaptic portals" gets deep into the cosmic cracks, looking for dark corners in which to find life. subterranean rhythms run head-on into dying city streets before hiding again where it's always night. looping soundscapes dissolve into major chord progressions and sequential wanderings. eventually, though, henning decides to reanimate the rabbit hole, pluck your piano strings, and sink in this synthetic quicksand. wretched beauty.
