| november 2007 release; a “solo” album from macronympha’s rodger stella, pressed on fancy blue vinyl ::
two sides of woozy, plunderphonic weirdness, not too far from j.o. mallander’s 60s experiments, or the more contemporary work of joseph hammer ... the first side slowly devolves into a haze of grey-ish noise, but the second side keeps the momentum up throughout, climaxing in a fury of random turntablism ... |

| rodger stella "foucault zombie" lp (gods of tundra)
100% pure psychedelic dementia from the man who is half responsible for both the greatest noise lp and interview of all time. but for those thinking this lp is gonna be full on slug to the gut rumble and tumble of macro, you can toss your expectations aside. rodger instead lays down some serioulsy bizzare and warped sounds to create a dizzying record..one that cannot be fully appreciated or understood with just one listen. each side long track builds, destroys, builds again, then falls into a black hole of incredibly strange sound. each listen will result in a new point of focus, and each time you still wont know what to think. everyone who was at no fun '07 knows that rodger's true set was him just being there for 4 days..and im very convinced that this is what he heard in his head the whole time. |
