another noise insult. crepuscular study on vibrating speakers, microphone feedback, analog synthesizer and amplified guitar. timbraly consistent, apparently electro-acoustic, yet surprising, emotional and distinctive. recorded live on a ship, /// is a colaboration of two original artists, who explore improvisation as a language of unrestricted communication, which contrasts with obscure packaging and enigmatic title of the cd. hint: don't look, just listen.

recorded sepember 2004. mastered by werner dafeldecker and robert piotrowicz. this release is a result of cooperation of emd.pl/records and dobosz records. honors to artur nowak, tomek krakowiak and werner dafeldecker. design by michal kopaniszyn. honors to the only head. blessed dr. jelito.

robert piotrowicz is a leading figure on polish noise and free-improv scene, being an active experimentalist for the last 10 years and co-founder of musica genera label and festival. he switched from electric guitar to analog synthesizer, and finally combined both instruments in an electro-acoustical system. this is his first solo release, following recordings with stuckonceiling, "can't illumination", an album with anna zaradny / burkhard stangl, and two cdr releases by polycephal and phase! records. robert has played live with most of today's leading improvisers, most extensively with john butcher, kevin drumm, xavier charles, jérôme noetinger and zbigniew karkowski.about cover art

cd packaging was exclusevly designed for emd.pl/records and this release by michal kopaniszyn, one of the new and most promissing polish designers, who uses images to open minds.

michal kopaniszyn studied design at academy of fine arts in katowice. his first major exhibition was "przekaz 1998" (with michal biernacki) in upper silesian center of culture. together with janusz lobzowski, michal held exhibits of their projects k-ce ulica (katowice street) and gumowi ludzie (rubber people) in many european cities. both janusz and michal are also known as vj lobokop - they are making visualizations for electronic music concerts in clubs around poland. michal is a colaborator of polish naive artist mistrz pawarotti aka the syntetic aka czlowiek widmo, and active experimentalist in turbo-sociology arena with controversial projects jezusmaria! and grupa leokona.

"lasting clinamen" is another step further in one of the most adventurous polish experimental musician's quest for new sounds. in the four pieces on this cd robert piotrowicz takes his explorations of modular analogue synthesiser to a new level. while his previous releases were action packed experiments with the possibilities of the instrument, the new one is a statement from an artist who knows exactly what he wants to achieve. robert has mastered his skills and feels confident with his tools, enough to focus on the very nature of carefully selected and crafted sounds.

this album is all about power. the raw power of sound, it's presence and change in time, it's depth and inner structure, it's pulse and volume. masterful building of tension has always been one of robert's music qualities. this time he achieves it by means of balancing the static and dynamic elements of sound. powerful drones of the first and the third track, solid as a rock, reveal rich and detailed texture of constantly fluctuating, layering and oscillating sonic details. growing in volume, they keep on evolving until they vanish. repetitive, yet shifting pulse of the second track, vibrates with unearthly bass, mesmerizing and frightening. the last track builds form alien echoes floating over low frequency soundscape to another mighty manifestation of eternal drone, only to fade away in silence.

this recording confronts you with the sheer sound in it's purest form, as powerful as it gets. overwhelming, sometimes painful, always beautiful.

this cd documents festival of improvised and electronic music alt+f4, which took place in warsaw on 15-18 may 2003. released by center for new forms salvia and emd.pl/records.

the motto of alt+f4 festival was energy of electronic music. its objective was to present the emerging polish scene of experimental electronic music. polish artists performed together with austrian ones, presenting the newest forms in the realm of electronic and improvised music. the festival alt+f4 was organized by center for new forms salvia with cooperation with austrian cultural forum in warsaw. alt+f4 together with the international conference "turning sounds: djs and composers meeting" formed pillars of the big event aimed to promote new music to polish audience.
