john elliott (of the group emeralds) is in outer space. he is sending signals back to us on earth. we will release these transmissions to the general public as soon as they have been decoded. john beamed a signal timed at 25-01-2012 @ 19:04 artwork by graham lambkin five tracks completed ; side a will feature a variety of more rhythmic and melodic stuff, while side b flexes my palette of electronic sounds from modular synthesizer. a side long concrete piece in homage to ilhan mimaroglu and tod dockstader john elliott & guest appearances by: andrew veres philip j. whiteside drew mcdowall jeff hatfield adam miller outer space "ii" follows "outer space" (released on arbor, 2010 - nyc). new personnel: andrew veres, philip whiteside, drew mcdowall, and adam miller. recurring personnel: jeff hatfield. produced with mellotron m-400 and synthesizer. ltd edition (1,000) deluxe mirror-board lp release date 23rd july 2012 "ii” is the logical progression. it is an effort based on group format, and is an evolution from the debut outer space album. the central core of elliott and veres worked to arrange, record, and mix for a new direction and a new sound; headed down a path of cracked concrete and dissolving memory from the aether. many different textures and composing methods are applied here to make a more varied and spontaneous array of songs. experiments ranging from looped, broken m-400, jagged rhythm beds, and modular synthesis. severing the obsessions of death and anxiety, and creating a work based on "the current" and those involved in the process, "ii" has a different feel with less claustrophobia and more breathable air. imagine the sounds are a liquid, with different masses and changing color. "ii" is first in a 12" trilogy of sounds to be released in 2012. it's considered to be the second full-length effort by the project. reality comes first here with a narrative of events that are real and happening right now. close attention to detail reveals more than what is seen at the surface. the information is presented clearly; it's up to the listener to use the intelligence provided for full comprehensive understanding.

digi060: imaginary softwoods s/t 2lp three years ago, a triple cassette oddity appeared out of nowhere adorned in washed-out nature collages and zero information. turns out that john elliot of emeralds was behind the madness, and after further dissection of the sounds enclosed and it all began to make sense. those three tapes (one yellow, one blue, one red) were the first taste of something that felt like a lost private-press object from the early european electronic experimentations of the '60s & '70s. each vignette is its own story, its own exploration. synthesizers and other electronics are stripped to their bare bones, never drifting beyond a mere five minutes. it's the brevity that is the guiding hand, though. every tone and every note is carefully considered and utilized as you're sucked into a world of washed-out colors and sullen landscapes. one thing that immediately stands out with these pieces is just how restrained elliot is with them. it adds considerable tension, even if its understated, giving the album a surprising amount of emotional depth. each piece is its own miniature mountain, traversed and left behind all in a matter of minutes. as you interact with the subtlety changing harmonics and tonal shifts, you begin to float away into synthetic dreams. if all bedroom albums were this great, i'd never leave the house. a true gem. completely remastered for vinyl by james plotkin and cut in berlin by d+m. the deluxe vinyl edition is presented in full-color gatefold jackets with all new art from john elliot in conjunction with the inimitable witchbeam. all tracks untitled

d010 :: telecult powers, stars are the eyes of god :: tape performing with custom-built synthesizers, occult synth duo telecult powers creates abstract electronic music to explore mysteries, mystic states and magickal systems. after forming out of early collaborations between members mister matthews and witchbeam, the duo moved from cleveland to brooklyn where they continued to develop their work over the past few years. currently based in both brooklyn and new orleans , telecult powers remains an active creative force in the underground community. telecult's recorded work can be found on their own label temple of pei, as well as deception island, baked tapes, pizza night, and a few others. telecult powers' newest release, stars are the eyes of god, enlists the help of two prolific collaborators: hecate’s fountain is telecult joined by lala ryan (of excepter) ; inner spaced is telecult and john elliott (of emeralds, outer space, and imaginary softwoods). on side a, hecate's fountain's "initiation to the temple of pei" spins spheres of spacious textures which serve as a bed for lala ryan's tripped-out acid-tinged dadaist vocals. reminiscent of cosmic joker's gilles zeitschiff, the trio concocts the perfect blend of alchemical theatrics and kosmiche music. on side b, inner spaced launches into "no sleep til nibiru," opening with a gushing wall of white noise that shape-shifts into an array of cyclical sounds. the three synth players craft a heavy dark-matter space, with slow, methodical pacing and intention. this tape traverses new landscapes of abstract synth and space music, as wholly engulfing side-length tracks provide an expanded telecult universe. ek57-the accidents "demo color" c34 debut release from the mysterious cleveland, ohio unit, the accidents. not limiting themselves to any "genre", "demo color" has genuine variety within it's 11 tracks and manages to maintain a cohesive center. lush synthesizer and drum machine arrangements, heartfelt acoustic guitar and cassette work. with central themes of disaster and loss, particularly in america in the last century, there is a strong emotional core to this release not often heard in synthesizer based music at this moment in time. expressing something beyond the surface and incorporating an extremely human narrative somewhere it is often lacking.

"akashic record" sees the project grow in many different directions from the self-titled arbor album created throughout 2008 and 2009 while retaining similar aesthetics of synthesizer experimentation and it's esoteric relations. recorded over the course of a year with close engineering assistance and compositional contributions from andrew veres in home and studio situations, a fresh array of fidelities and ideas previously unexplored have been mined and documented. new contributions from the elusive philip whiteside (of wavehead) and drew mcdowall (past coil / current mirror eye member) expand, stretch and challenge previous working methods. in the tradition of many other past releases, jeff hatfield (of cleveland, ohio's fragments) makes his essential appearance as well. new medecine rocks cassette alex moskos and john elliott bunkered down over thanksgiving 2010 in cleveland to record this lone weird excursion. at times sounding like the mike post score for a deeply unheralded early 90's made-for-tv joint about wet streets others sounding like what would happen had sonny not died and last exit made a record for realworld, minus the drunken brotz. of course. elliott on more or less synth and synth programming, moskos on mg-1 and guitar everyone plays drums. cover painting by jessica mensch. medicine rocks cs the medicine rocks new cassette offers 7 or 8 (??) tracks of head spinning electronic percussion, vocals and busted synthesizer. quite different than the contributions made with colored mushroom, these tracks see the unit in much more raw form. sloppy guitar, destroyed electronic drum kit, and unintelligible vocals make this a rough rider. ltd to 150 copies, professionally duplicated with killer art by jessica.
