| january 2009 release ; lovely set featuring the guitar & electronics duo of christian malfray & pierre faure, first together by themselves (a short static acoustic guitar-strum intro, then a superb elongated electric guitar & processing suite that ends in a lock groove) followed by a collaboration with storied french improvising guitarist jean-marc montera (whose “mmmr” collaboration with loren connors, thurston & lee was a highlight of the late-90s free-guitar conflux - here the junction of his sandy bull-esque raga lines & malfray / faure’s bleep-heavy digital accents hits a very sweet spot) ...
this art-gallery edition features a one-sided lp (oddly, longer than some double-sided ones !!!) housed in a picture-disc sleeve ... a bit on the pricey side, yes, but considering the edition & the quality of sound on offer herein ... no complaints from my end. highly recommended !!! |

two tracks of nappe (pierre faure also member of sun stabbed and christian malfray) and another one in collaboration with jean marc montera (collaborator with fred frith, barre phillips, loren mazzacane connors, thurston moore, lee ranaldo, louis sclavis, michel doneda, …).
two tracks of minimal music played with guitars and electronics that freeze the sound in an infinite time and one track of experimental raga blues with jean marc montera playing the acoustic 12 strings guitar that show a different way of playing.
