| jun'ichi syuo "san-kai-kei (sutra of the described world)" (cd)

jun'ichi syuo is a musician lives in iwate (east-north area of main island of japan). he has issued some cdrs of electronic noise works privately since several years ago. in this time, a small label allelopathy released his first full length cd. (allelopathy is founded by "onnyk" - yoshiaki kinno - he is not only a dental doctor, but also is a producer. he carried out some live shows for example fred frith, borbetmagus and many other improvised music.)
one day, my friend "onnyk" came to my house to check the master disk of the new cd which will be released soon, and he is the producer of it, not the musician. at first, he explained it as the kind of so-called "noise music" . however, my impression is similar to the experience on harry bertoia (onnyk also produced bertoia's cd from psf records). though it reminded me of the old ambient music, here is no tolerance, but very severe atomosphere. with the other words, it does not seemed to be a "harsh one" in the genre of "noise", but an abstract and compact constructive sound works. i felt no selfish elements which were always observed in such solo musical works, and it achieved the rare maturity as the sound pieces. if i were a director of some radio station, i must broadcast it in the program of contemporary music hour. third track is the most beautiful one.
