i feel that ; as much as “the list” gets constantly referenced around here, few of you seem to know much about nurse with wound other than their affiliations with what would ultimately become the 80s “industrial” wave ...
back when this album was being forged, the trio of heman pathak, john fothergill, and steven stapleton were far more in debt to the wave of european prog & psych dotting “the list’s” entrants (certainly the opening track’s acid-guitar orgies & bleeping synth owe a great deal to richard pinhas / heldon - listen to the sound-sample) ...
... this version (again) adds the track “strain, crack, break” ; originally issued with the album on 2001’s united dairies cd edition & featuring colin potter & david “michael” tibet ... despite the topic, it’s a bit of an anachronism (as it was recorded that year) ; but really your focus should be on the album proper’s continuous flow of screeching guitar skrag and primal electronic overlays ...
no home should be without a copy in some form ; this edition comes with a 12-page booklet covering all of the affiliated texts, images, and “clues” ; highly recommended !!! |

united jnana is pleased to reissue the debut album from nurse with wound, chance meeting on a dissecting table of a sewing machine and an umbrella, originally released on united dairies in 1979.
this special edition cd features a digipack with the original artwork restored and an expanded booklet with archival material chosen by steven stapleton. the disc has been remastered from the original analog tapes and features bonus material.
chance meeting enjoys a reputation as one of the most singular debuts of all time. |
