a straight palindrome (the b-side merely offers the a-side in reverse) the music herein largely consists of scratchy doom-oid guitar-drone (with flourishes of electronics & stray studio aftertouching) ; quite vivid and rather effective ...

bh-39 locrian - falling towers / after the torchlight c40

i'm very pleased to present this new release from locrian, adding to their impressively solid discography. it sees them as a three-piece with the addition of mr. lemos, and a bit of a thickening up of their now trademark sound on these two tracks. shards of guitar improv, blackened howls, buzzing electronics and a constant progression through many chilling and evil zones.

audio is played in reverse on b-side, for perfect sound symmetry. silver ink on black with silver and blue glitter metallic paper. j-card is 7-panels. edition of 200 copies on hi-bias chrome tapes.

2008 release ; second wodger outing, covering the meeting(s) of christmas decorations’ steve silverstein w/ chicago-area improviser kyle bruckmann & white/light’s jeremy lemos ...

largely synth-pulse oriented takes, rooted in a kind of early industrial sensibility ; kyle’s errant rising mijwiz reminds me a bit of 23 skidoo (as does the wash of echo-patterns & the occasional splash of clanging metal) & some of the more straight-rhythm pieces are peppered with the kinds of “gristleizer” noises you’d associate with the coum transmissions set ...

lp comes in a finely letter-pressed fold-over sleeve, with a chipboard jacket glued inside ; very well done !!!
