march 2011 release ; here & below are the first four titles on this post-pizza night tape label, run by sam “radio people” goldberg & issued in proper, professionally replicated / imprinted runs, complete with full-color nac inserts & the whole deal, in editions of slightly more than your average regional home-dupe (i.e. he’s stepped up his game, lost the casual-music connotations, & is focusing on getting otherwise un-repped masters of choice contemporary analogue electronic music out into the world in the “proper” manner ; kudos for that !!!) ...

nice to see this duo of julian “synaptic foliage” gulyas & adam “isle of sodor” miller pop up on a non-chm imprint ... here they slay with two long sides of exploratory “laboratory” wobble, recalling the whole japanese “vanity” scene (maybe with a little nord thrown in) inasmuchas the “bedroom” synth-invocations of our beloved domestic private-press scene ...

julian of cylindrical habitat and buddy adam miller who does isle of sodor cook up some darrrrk zones, somewhat of an industrial release from these two , while most kids there age are chugging beer thru a funnelor forming a neon crystal feather boa drocal band or a combo of both , these kids are harvesting raw sounds with all the right intentions, true stuff.

fifty-third module: comet bodies - obsidian cartridge cdr

an extra menacing, weird continuation of the comet bodies vision, and the beginning of a new home-recordings era for the project. recorded in the grip of winter in cleveland ohio and originally produced for the comet bodies "tour" (actually just two ohio shows in early february). more science fiction oscillator spray with an almost gross-sounding edge not heard on previous comet bodies joints. definitely the dirtiest-sounding comet bodies set to date.

edition of 60, only 20 remain.

thirty-eighth module: isle of sodor - double vision c30

best isle of sodor material yet, killer new set from columbus' adam miller, and his 200th or 300th tape on cylindrical. consistently raising the bar for himself, adam lays down easily his most accessible and profound jam yet, side a starting off with winding, non-linear magic brushed melodies, satiny filter passes floating through like dust around a lamp. another leap in the right direction, certainly my favorite sodor yet, an excellent slice of sub-space electronics.

july 2010 release ; two takes from chm’s julian gulyas & adam miller, working some straight “forbidden planet” modes via their respective analogue setups ... that these two chose 60’s bleep-out over hnw, post-kranky “friendliness” drones, or even guitar center post-radiohead pedalboard moves is something that gives me great hope for the future of the “internet generation” ...

follow-up to april's "close to a world below" cassette, more insane vintage synth moves from the same session as the cassette. these ones are definitely far more sparse and bleak than the tape tracks; an hour of black-hole warp zones and endless arp drip from julian gulyas (synaptic foliage) and adam miller (isle of sodor), mastered and released as a cd-r for optimum audial freshness. truly bizarre and kind of draining. guaranteed to turn any vehicle into an inverting, folding vessel that will probably turn inside out and drive into itself. definitely don't drive with this on. weird.
