he was born in marseille on 5 march 1967. besides doctoral studies in mathematics with robert bouc and musical data-processing with jean-claude risset to the mechanics and acoustics laboratory of the cnrs (centre national de la recherche scientifique) of marseille, he studied theory, the violin and music history at the cnr (conservatoire national de région) of marseille.
by unanimous decision, he obtained there in 1990 the first prize in electroacoustic composition and music history (marcel frémiot and pascal gobin’s course). in 1991, he was granted by unesco and the bourges institute a composition scholarship to work in the studios of the queen's university of kingston (ontario, canada). acoustic consultant for music, theater groups and museums (compagnie pot aux roses, delices dada, bernardines theater, compagnie oreille bien faite, art moderne muséum of paris).
co-founder of the group outre-mesure with chris chanet, saxophonist, and dominique bouchery, clarinetist, working around the music improvised. from 1991 to 1994, he belonged to the crim’s research team (centre de recherche en informatique et musique) before being sound engineer at the ircam’s production department (institut de recherche et coordination en acoustique et musique). he is now in charge of the computer department at the international institute of electroacoustic music/bourges.
in 1991, he obtained a "residence" prize at the bourges international electroacoustic music competition with the piece "passages", in 1992 a sacem’s prize (young composer's prize) with the piece "l'invisible", in 1996 a honorary mention (category music for radio) at the russolo-pratella competition (italy) with the piece "histoire d'un rêve".
