- bed of mercury
- perdurable cessate
| july 2009 release ; first thing we’ve been able to grip from this ohioan duo, consisting of zach troxell and jeff “field of hats” hatfield (who’s also playing w/ big john elliot in outer space these days) ...
sensing a palpable steve birchall influence (at least in how the lines always seem to burble-out at the end) ; otherwise my language fails in describing the sort(s) of sputnik-lineage bleep-out the pair get up to here, occasionally landing on a nice drone-bed, but mostly launching passel after passel of deep-space telemetry out into the ether ... this comes closer to the late 70s / early 80s home-recorded electronics wave that just about anything i’ve heard recently ... if retro-futurism’s your thing ; bon appetit ... |
