there is not a lot to say when a young talented percussionist meet one of the master of improvised music, also percussionist ; we can just sit and listen what happens. this is what exactly did the guys at cosabeat studio during "mirrors" recording session. the result is incredible. you can really feel the musicians concentration and then understand the importance of every sound they created. this is a focused, brilliant, top class "sound dialogue" between two of the most dedicated artist i have ever met.
christian wolfarth (b. 1960) is a percussionist; since the middle of the 80th’s, he’s involved in different styles of jazz and improvised music. he studied with billy brooks, pierre favre and contemporary composition with siegfried kutterer in basel. he collaborated with lê quan ninh, ignaz schick, marianne schuppe, martin schütz, martin siewert, michael vorfeld, jason kahn, hans koch, tomas korber, john butcher, gene coleman, evan parker.
enrico malatesta (b. 1985) is a percussionist focused on improvised and contemporary music ; enroled in classical percussion instruments course at "bruno maderna" conservatoire of cesena, from 2007 he collaborates with teatro valdoca. he played and collaborated among the others with: jonas kocher, manuel mota, eli keszler, tristan honsinger, julian reiss, stefano pilia. |
