| ep (erneuerter prozess), is a new record label from hamburg, germany, established in january 2000 by marc and el stick, the latter being co-founder of experimental music label wachsender prozess (reznicek, klangkrieg, asmus tietchens, marc behrens...) alongside thomas beck (now managing wp in co-operation with felix kubin).
ep has been founded to release and promote experimental electronic music of all categories - abstract electronica, digital experimentation, musique concrete, breakbeats et al - coming out of germany (we’re not really locally restricted though)
discotheque bruitisme, a cd compilation marking the debut of the label has been released in 2000. originally scheduled for a ’99 release on wachsender prozess, the record is finally coming to life on our newly established ep label. basically a record with music by some of our friends, the cd compiles previously unreleased tracks by projects from hamburg, berlin and cologne.
from weird electronica to minimal dub techno, from musique concrete to digital breakbeats, discotheque bruitisme features some of today’s most inspired german artists including mouse on mars (sonig » cologne), christoph de babalon (fat cat, digital hardcore recordings » berlin), groenland orchester (staubgold), relais (decode), hematic sunsets (asmus tietchens), reznicek, flash gordon bluesband (tbc & mense » egoexpress) and others (mainly from hamburg). |
