chris pottingermoist membrane” long playing record

  • moist membrane (9:01)

  • dripping dead (9:01)
gauzy, chirping electronics & wind/reed interference from chriscotton museumpottinger ...

despite the mighigan-lineage framing mechanism (sewerz !!! pusz !!!) this is a finely nuanced set of electro-acoustic improv, laced with some real forward-momentum & a nice, crisp fidelity-set ...

chris pottinger "moist membrane" 12" lp

plague ridden corpses are scavenged in the forest by a starving beast. the bodies are hidden amongst the rotting bark thats shed from the termite infested trees. their skulls are destroyed, cracked open like freshly laid eggs exposing their throbbing brain membranes for the rancid feast.

moist membrane is a new 12" lp from chris pottinger (cotton museum / slither) this album is a complete cellar-dweller horror soundtrack to a film that should have been made in 1974. not quite harsh, not quite mellow, this lp could only be recorded in a depressing, moldy michigan basement. saxophone, analog synth, zither, and who knows what else are used to create this album. deluxe full color lp jackets, full color center labels with a b & w poster of a mutant autopsy gone wrong.

this lp plays at 45 rpm and is limited to 400 hand numbered copies.

cotton museum - "pus pustules" 12" lp

"pus pustules" is one of the most diseased cotton museum recordings to date. clocking in at 21 minutes on side a, adorned with with a detailed etching of sickly beasts on side b and a five color silk screened album cover designed by chris pottinger.

theremin, synth, and other odd electronic instruments create a bubbling cesspool of rotting sounds that leak from your stereo speakers like a cancerous sludge. take a trip through a strange world where you can hear these sickly beasts devouring corpses while insects sting their bodies, leaving them covered with infected welts. cotton museum is a solo electronic noise project from visual artist chris pottinger that has been performing for the past seven years.

limited edition of 400 hand numbered copies, black vinyl with thick chipboard album cover

thurston moore / cotton museumsplit” long playing record

  • thurston moore - insertion (33 or 45 rpm)
  • cotton museum - untitled (33 rpm)
... last copies ...
tasty soil press release...
thurston moore / cotton museum split 12" lp

two dudes over 6 feet tall making totally fucked noise.

thurston moore is on side a, putting you into a reverb junk zone a hundred feet under the ground where you can actually hear the grubs boring holes through the dirt & sucking the flesh off your dead pets corpse.

cotton museum is on side b creating theremin & loop scum, super rotted style. skulls scraping on rib bones over and over. created to make you forget about the insect eggs that were laid in your eye sockets. try sticking your damn patch cable right into an open sore and it would probably sound something like this record.

limited to 500 copies w/ 3 color pro-screen printed covers (printed by nick bittakis) with art by chris pottinger.

tasty soil's first official lp release!! each copy is numbered out of 500.
